These crystal wonders are hand-harvested from a family-owned mine in the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal. Before the family can even consider crystal harvesting, they must ask permission of the mountain. If the mountain says “No†then they freely release the idea. If the mountain says, “Yes,†then they offer thanks and rituals and begin the arduous three-day bus ride (three days each way) to the mine.
Once at the mountain, they must climb extremely carefully (with packs) on primitive paths and bridges. When they find the place where the mountain is offering her stones to them, they gently harvest them with small hand-held hammers.
Then they kindly wrap each crystal to preserve every single, precious point, and place them in packs with all the other crystals. It requires great intent and dedication to then climb, from 10,000 ft plus, down and take the three day bus ride back home with their treasures. After that, they happily pack the stones for shipment and share them with us great joy and gratitude.
It is not the easy way to “mine†stones. In the short run, it would be “easier†to use heavy equipment, or dynamite, to get them whenever they want them. However, this heart-filled way of asking the mountain, first, and then hand-gathering, is how they lovingly honor the earth. They create sacred space where the earth’s resources are respected for the true treasures that they are, and any time any of us does that we offer energy to this world that affirms every single life form. We feel enormously grateful to be able to support this way of treating the earth and her bounty with kindness and gratitude.
When we share these crystals with you, we share that kindness and honoring with you. It is literally imbued in every stone. We know that some of their brightness directly comes from the clear compassion offered them. However any of us, or any thing, is birthed imprints our bodies and can make it easier for us to shine and return the love and abundance offered us. It is a way of life that creates more life.
