Raku Gift Items
Raku products created by Jeremy Diller in Tecate, CA. USA.
Each product is individually hand made in Jeremy's studio and infused with love.
Each piece is hand formed and fired in an outdoor kiln to over 2000 degrees Fahrenheit. Molten hot, it is placed in a pit with dried brush and mesquite shavings that burst into flame. The varying conditions of the raku process assure that each piece is "one of a kind."
Notes on Raku:
- Raku is light sensitive and should be kept away from direct light such as the sun.
- Mesquite aroma is from the reduction using wood shavings and fades with time.
- Ash is normal.
- Cracking of the glazes and minor fissures on plates and vases is normal, due to the rapid change in temperature from a 2000 degree kiln to a 70 degree atmosphere.
